Topband: Digi transmitter spur

It appears a digital telemetry transmitter on 1777 or 1759
kHz has a problem.

I'm not sure if two transmitters are (stupidly) being dumped
into one antenna, or if it is a single transmitter with a
problem.

The result to use is there is a very strong spur about every
18kHz from 1777 up, and from 1759 down.

This places spurs at 1796, 1814, 1832, etc.

There are also minor level spurs at other frequencies with
about 9kHz spacing, but these are a bit weaker.

This means we also have minor spurs on 1805, 1823, 1841,
etc.

Does anyone know who owns the transmitters from the Gulf
coast area (probably south of Louisiana or east of Texas)
so we might contact them without the FCC?

It's clearly in the best interest of anyone working 160 to
locate this transmitter and contact the owner to get it off
the air or repaired. I'll need a bit more help than normal
with this one since my time is so limited. I'm seriously
overloaded with work and have a bad leg problem, so I'm not
in the best shape to spend a lot of time on this.

By the way, stations up in the Illinois area. There is an
aircraft NDB at Shelbyville IL airport , callsign SYZ, that
is trashing 1824.8 or so. I have a number of 217-774-4111.
The signal is the CW image of SYZ, so it sounds like U IET U
with a very long dash on the last U. This has to be
bothering people up north since it is S5 here. I get no
response from several calls to the number above.
