I received the following message from Claus CP4BT. If
anyone has experience with feeding a longwire using he method he
describes below, please reply directly to him. I've suggested he
consider a 1/4wl inverted-L if he can get about 12-15m for the
vertical part. Claus' native language is German so perhaps some of
our German readers can also reply to him directly "auf Deutsch".

                                          73, Bill W4ZV

Hello dear Bill,

saludos de Bolivia. A few times we coul connect us on 160 metros and
it was a pleasure to have picked You up with Your strong signal.

I´working with a 78 meter longwire and I have a question to the
alimentation of the longwire with coax cable.

The formula says 1/4 de onda, that means 19,5 meters multiplicated
with the factor of reducion of coax cable, means 0,66. Is it correct
to use more or less 13 meters of coax RG 58?

The inside cable of Coax cable ( I don´t know how to call it in
English) we connect to the longwire antena and the protection part we
don´t connect, because it´s connected to ground with the chassis of
the equipment.

I would be thanksful if You can write me, if the connection goes o.k.
with these dimensions. Perhaps You will have friends who know
something about longwire.

TNX and cuagn
