questions.
Then let me tell a little story: this evening during a pizza dinner a 
friend has said to me: "I have read that you are searching for 2N5109, i 
have a dozen in my scrapbox"
I discovered that he was working around the same project!  He also asked: 
please find the way to obtain a variable gain of the preamplifier.
In fact a variable gain is a desirable feature, maybe in certain conditions 
reducing the gain can be a good choice?
