         I agree.  If this antenna was better than a 1000'
Beverage, it was most likely because propagation was at high
angles.  A good Beverage has poor response above 45 degrees TOA.  The 
DO Loop *peaks* at 43 degrees TOA and is only down
~2 dB at 90 degrees (i.e. straight up).  A low dipole should
work a little better for very high angles.
