Hola Topbanders,

I finally had a fantastic opening to Europe last
night around my sunset. I worked from 2330Z 20 Jan to
0100 21 Jan and put 65 EU/Asia in the log. At the
peak signals were very strong, 30-35 dB above my
noise. Fighting QRN last night was not an issue, but
there was a new problem of pulling stations out of the
QRM. Last night was a lot of fun. An interesting note
was that stations were received significantly better
on my Inv L TX ant than the K9AY. I am sure I missed a
lot of contacts but there will be another day. Other
significant openings I had for this trip were on 22
Dec where I worked 220 US/VE stations and 2 January
where 40 JA's were put into the log.

I am leaving for the US and will be QRT until the last
week in Feb. Unfortunately I will miss the CQ test
but there is a rumor that the RCP club station in Lima
will be activated.

I will send cards out within a week for those that
have QSLed.

Chau for now Jack OA4/N6XQ
