Jim, K2HN, Found a LARGE spool of wire at a garage sale. Wants to use it for radial wire.

Jim and all......

Sounds like it is 2 pair/22 gauge, Buried drop wire (ie 2x22BDW). Used from local terminal to the house. Sometimes had a "flooding" around the wire which can be icky/sticky and was used to water proof it. Could be fun trying to strip off the outer covering to expose the wires........ not to mention untwisting them.... won't be able to solder to the aluminum. Sometimes you can't even solder to the wires used in the underground stuff. I'd say, strip it, used an anti-ox of some kind, twist the copper and the aluminum shield together, and then bolt it to the radial plate, or some how make a mechanical connection.

Good luck with the project.
