Topband: EA6 Report

Interesting opening yesterday around my sunset. I followed FK8CP guides in the Chat, and amazingly I started to hear him well enough, 559 for the first time ever on 160m..!! What amazed me was a little earlier, and possibly related with the good condx we experienced yesterday. Around SS, we had a heavy storm over here, with hard winds, rain and couple of thunders, but passed along in 30 minutes. After that, I checked the band, and through my EWEs the band seemed to me dead flat, so that I even thought the wind had damaged my antennas. But not, they were there, and when I tuned Remi on 1831MHz he was CQing there at 559 good copy from 1838z untill 1850z, (with static crashes from the nearby storm), when he started to fade out, and finally missing his copy. He asked EA?? sometimes, but other callers still calling him, so no chance. What I have noted is his long CQs, wasting sometimes a short (maybe unique!) opening in years..If someone could suggest him not to make his CQs so long, say 3-4 times, we will have more chances when propagation allow us to hear him. Anyway was great to, at least, have heard him on TB..!!
