Topband: COPPER BRAIDED ROPE

Has anyone had experience with this stuff? I just had a failure on one of
the pigtails connecting a top loading wire to the mast on my 160M
vertical....most disconcerting, as it requires a 75 ft climb and removal of
the mast and wires.
As a way of trying to insure that this does not happen again, I was thinking
of using some of this braided copper rope. The stuff I have is about 3/8"
diameter but I could unwind one strand to make it less bulky. It is very
flexible, something the copper braid I used up top apparently is not.
Connection would be via split-bolt connectors to the wire and crimp/solder
loops to the mast.
The rope looks like a good candidate for this job, but I'd like to be sure
that what I'm proposing won't end in failure down the line. Comments or
suggestions would be most welcome.
