Friends in Radioland,

Earlier, I cited the fact that 160 DXing generally improves when the flux
of galactic cosmic rays (GCR) DECREASES. This is shown on reviewing
distance L vs GCR records in 160 meter logs

In addition, statistical analysis of DX contacts by SP5EWY shows that
propagation from Poland to North America is slightly better than from W7LR
in Montana to Europe, This is probably due to the rich soil on the banks
of the Mississippi River.

On the other hand, propagation from ZS4TX to North America, largely over
sea water, is better than from ZS4TX to Scandinavia, over jungle, dry desert
and the rocky Alps.

It is hoped at these analyses may be extended to East and West of JAPAN
but suitable logs for 2003 to 2007 have not been obtained. If you can
suggest a candidate, please contact me at Nm_7m at aol,com_ (mailto:Nm7m at aol,com) .
