Mark, you are right, but I would suggest the following 
exchange when the DX is not strong:

> DX:  N5OT 599 N5OT
> Him: 579 579 TU
> DX: CQ...

Please note the report: send a real report! It gives the 
DX and idea of his signal and conditions, and if he gets 
it wrong, so what?
