I'll pass that thought along to the Operators at places like
P5AT or VP8TAT when they open up
on 160 during a contest. Those silly Ops might figure the non selfish
thing to do would be to work as many
of the deserving as rapidly as possible which means working split.
Again, what makes working split effective
is your installation, location , propagation and skill. Operating
split on 160M will never be commonplace due
to propagation. The band will decide if split operating will be
successful, not statements denigrating the practice of split operating
by pointing out the loutishness and lidness performed by poor operators.
