My shunt feed configuration initially caused wide spaced TX variable  
caps to arc at just a few hundred watts on 80m. And their adjustment  
was critical and difficult.  Vacuum variables solved the breakdown  
problem and provided easy and stable adjustment via the built in  
verniers.

Max Gain Systems offers vacuum variables and is a very reliable source  
everything they carry.

Vacuum caps can also be found on Ebay. Caveat Emptor.
