Topband: Solid state relays for a Commander 2500

those should be pretty standard solid state switches. I don't recall them
being a problem in the 2500 I worked on some years ago

Are you satisfied that the switches themselves are the problem and not the
controls to them?

CWA2425 looks like the plain vanilla model that should do Any of the
added suffixes should also work if found surplus

pick what you want and then hunt for whoever has it, one of the majors will
have what you need, or call Crydom and see who has it in stock

I don't have a place on tap, but there should be plenty of this class
device around in the places with surplus stock, "new" old stock, etc., as
well as EBay. I carry a few of these with DC controls in my remote site
service kit & I picked them up at various times at decent prices

Subject: Topband: Solid state relays for a Commander 2500

Hi All,

Sorry to be asking this question here, but the
responses on other reflectors
are not helping much.

A
friend has a Commander 2500 with Crydon solid state relays that turn the

amp on and off. They are labelled either "01750" or
"D1750" and have about
25A RMS ratings at up to 280
VAC. They also use a nominal 240 VAC control
voltage switched
from the front panel. I can find a photo of that in the
Newark
on-line catalog, but not the relay itself, as all current listings
seem to have low voltage DC control circuits for the solid state
device.

Can anyone of you help with this replacement issue?

The existing relays will sometimes open up without warning or any
indication
of a problem. Other times one cannot turn on the
amplifier.
The wiring and fuse, and switch have all been checked and
even Palstar
(current owner) leads us to a replacement circuit for
these devices, which
they prefer to totally change out !

Thanks in advance and Happy Easter or Happy Passover.
