Quick word on our K9AY 2 direction single loop- we had a ICE 196 voltage
limiter so as not to blow out the rx jack on the Pro III but the ICE 196
messed with the voltage as it goes out through the coax to control the
relays- it was causing the B setting to go blank- so we took it out of line
and the K9AY system is working fb- We have gone from S9 noise with the
MA160V down to S 0-1 without the preamp on and s 2-4 with it on. The front
to back is awesome. We worked a C6 tonight while listening with the K9AY
loop that the vertical never heard- We are only using 100 watts and the
apex of the K9AY loop is 60 feet from the vertical- Using the standard 25
foot mast set up with each loop pulled out 15 feet from the center and tied
off at 5 feet before going back to the control box- If we blow the rx input
on the pro III, we have a back up with the second rx jack- but I've heard
the Pro III was improved to try and help one not blow out the rx jack as I
used to do with my beverages and full power- Now without amps, I wonder if
the 756 Pro III can take 100 watts into the rx jack with the vertical
sitting where it is- ....guess we'll find out- any opinions on if the rig
can take this or not?? Next option is to just run the 12 volts out to the
control box but since the system is all set up for this, that could be
asking for it- lessor of two evils- we'll try the 100 watts without the 196
RF Limiter receive protection first-
