Topband: inverted-L antenna 1/4 vs 5/16

hi. I have install an inverted-L antenna 5/16. I am thinking to change it with an 1/4 inverted-L. I am concerning for local strong signal. What do you think, i will see big difference or with an 1/4 antenna the local signal will be a little bit stronger than an 5/16.
I ask you because it is difficult to change my antenna this time. Thank you very much
