Topband: why radials? K8UR or 4SQ array

Hello,

after your very helpful emails about soldering radials, I went to ON4UN 5th
edition book to read more about that.

And I found this number for my possible antennas. I don´t know and ON4UN
don’t tell how is a WA3FET optimized array, anyway seems the K8UR system is
the best option from the next 3 options.

CHAPTER/ARRAY NAME GAIN RDF
DMF
4.7 the four square array 5.75dBi	10.52dB
21.02dB
4.7.2 WA3FET optimized four square array 6.29dBi	11.4dB
24.4dB
7.2 the K8UR sloping-dipoles four square array 6.5dBi	11.07dB	22.7dB6.5

Next month I am rising a 200ft tower. My idea was to do a 4 square system,
with 4 wires holding vertically down from ropes supported from top of the
tower. Because I don´t have time to be ready for next October, and don´t
have the 31.500ft of wire for the radials, I decided to do the K8UR system.

this K8UR system don´t need radials!, and have more gain than the
traditional 4 square, so my question is why I will spend $$$$$ to upgrade
from K8UR system to a 4 square if it have less gain?

Just to be sure I am doing a good reading of ON4UN book, your feedback is
well appreciated.
