Topband: DX Window No Long Relevant

John W2GD has it exactly right, in my opinion. There is no longer a useful
purpose for the DX Window in contests. 160M has become such a popular band
that 5 kHz just isn't enough to make a difference!

Even without a fabulous radio, and before my present above-average station,
I took great pride in finding and working DX stations between and under the
US/VE CQ machines. Recently. I've also had good luck finding DX stations
high in the band.

If crowding becomes an issue, just spread out more; above 1900 kHz when
necessary. And no whining about narrowband antennas -- just do the work to
make them broadband or tunable, i.e., keep improving your game.
