I'v got at last longer e-mail from Jacek...so a few details :
The first place which was booked was rented for a long term and they could not get it. They proposed another one which
had not enough place for antennas at all.
Another hotel Otinatai was waiting for them but after watching from the outside, it turned out that there is no space
for antennas larger than 40m! They had to look for something else. They were taken to the resort, supposedly the best on the island.
This is QTH used previously by N1MEC and T30R. It looks great for tourists but antenna conditions are difficult.
The antenna is located in good place practically in the ocean, but erecting it was very risky, blowing 24 / 7 strong Passat is
making difficult even walking, let alone putting the 18m antenna!
Because of all this work with antennas he has crippled feet ...has problems with walking , has sunburn and is cold...
The area has very limited space for antennas and so far Jacek was not able to make 40 or 30m antenna..for receiving he made FO0AAA
loop but it is almost the same as vertical but is picking interferences when other Jacek T30AQ is active...even they have Dunestar
filters.
Internet is VERY slow 4kB/s...and very expensive..
As I wrote previously on Wednesday the antenna box blow up and Jacek is not able to use his vertical on 80m...several times
a top hat was disconnected ( heavy wind) and Jacek was repairing it during a night...
The noise level on both antennas ..vertical and loop is about 1S but QRN is S8-9 ...during nice weather! Because of it
Jacek has problems to copy stations transmitting fast CW...PLEASE USE THE SAME SPEED AS HE IS USING..18 WPM !
He is trying to be each his SR and SS...also SS/SR in EU / US ...unfortunatelly Jacek can't sleep too much as other station
T30AQ is active only SSB and they are in the same room....
They also learned that they must leave their Bwia (hut) for 2 days and move to another, it creates additional problems, but luckily
they do not have to remount the antenna on 160m but others, unfortunately, yes.
A second vertical -for 80m (12m) is mounted and tuned for SSB ...maybe it will be tuned for CW band....later.
