Topband: Ionization before Japan's seismic event

 Do you remember reading "Ionospheric Ducting at HF" by V. Kanevsky, UL7GW, in Sept. 1979 QST magazine? He makes the case that fault lines affect the ionoshpere over heard, resulting in ducting or enhanced propagation for those near the fault. I would imagine a major event like the one that just happenened in Japan would have a coresponding effect on the ionosphere as well. I remember when I read this artcile thinking that Minnesota is 1500 miles from the edge of any tectonic plate....another reason propagation stinks here.
