It's been very interesting to listen to all of the recent comments
relative to various receive antennas, and separation of XMIT and receive
antennas on top band.

I have been on top band since 1988 but I have never really had a good
receive antenna on this one acre city lot. I tried just about all of
them....flag, EWE, K9AY, low dipole, short beverages, etc. With the Hi-Z
four square (with 80 feet on a side) I have arrived at the promised land
as far as receive goes. It has an awesome front to back ratio and I can
hear better than I ever dreamed!! It is over 100 feet from my shunt fed
tower (100 feet) and there is very little interaction at this distance.

The K-3 (with diversity receive) helps, too along with the GAP hear it
module ahead of the K3. This device worked well with the Orion, too.

If I had room i'd go to the 8 circle array by Hi-Z...
