Topband: bottom fed antenna causing broad band signal?

The radiator configuration in the OP by Paul N0AH could provide some rather 
good performance on 160m.

Below is a link to calculations showing the inverse distance groundwave 
fields it could produce at the distances shown with 100W of applied power, 
given the listed assumptions.

Base voltage for this setup is about 645 volts, which is rather high, but 
wouldn't cause arcs as long as sufficient physical clearances are provided.

The 3 dB r-f bandwidth is about 144 kHz, which is more than enough to pass 
broadcast quality AM at that center frequency.  In normal operation this 
antenna system would not add anything to the bandwidth of the signal it is 
radiating.
