When I lived in Oklahoma City I met John Bryant (not a ham).
John was a retired distinguished professor from Oklahoma State University.
He was also an AM broadcast band expert SWL and DXer.

John and I spent many afternoons discussing RX antennas. He had amazing
insight on many of the exact same projects we work on as Hams.
He died in a tragic accident a few years ago.
