When I was in Florida I had trouble with rabbits eating my plants. I
had some jalapeno peppers that I had left on the plant too long and they
turned red. My green jalapenos were real flame throwers and those red
ones were orders of magnitude hotter. They put habaneros to shame. They
were totally uneatable. I thought I would make some sauce out of them
and spray it on the things I didn't want the rabbits to eat. A couple
of mornings later I went out to get the peppers and noticed there were 3
or 4 that were half eaten. So much for that idea.

The only solution I have for wires is to bury them in conduit. I even
had problems with direct burial coax after it was first buried. Coyotes
would see that the ground had been disturbed and dig up the cables and
chew them. Current problem is foxes. They love duct seal.
