Topband: Sloper antenna

Hi everyone.
My old aerial was a  1/4W inv L.with 3,1/4W radials that was max.unfortunately due to people next door the pole near the house went.So what I thought  was a top loaded 1/4w sloper, 70' 2.5mm wire on a4"former  and 70'as I think a capacity wire cut to resonance and the radials. Do I need a capacity  hat .it's a steel /ally mast in concrete 40' tall don't laugh  this is big by UK standards.any thoughts  please
