“Remember back in the Golden Years when it was STRICTLY FORBIDDEN to profit
from "amateur radio"???? When did that go away???”
I believe the rule is “station must not transmit communications for hire or for material compensation, direct or indirect, paid or promised…”
That’s way different from “profit from amateur radio”. Otherwise all the equipment manufacturers would be non-profits (more likely out of business).

Yes Jim, ALL of our stations require those outlays, but we don't make money
from them!
