Topband: "The underestimated transmitting loop". Corrected version

Hi Topbanders,

Have you ever wanted to work Top Band DX but do not have the space to erect
a suitable dipole or a vertical antenna with its associated radial system or
perhaps you are plagued by so much local QRM that most of the signals you
want to hear are buried in the noise? If this is you then read on!

I would like to highly recommend that you have a look at the following web
site belonging to Steve, VK5SFA. In his web site he spells out in great
detail his construction of a two turn transmitting magnetic loop antenna
backing it up with lots of photos and technical data describing how he, in
collaboration with a small group of Aussies, designed this antenna that he
put together.

Punch line - it really delivers the goods!

Steve's email address is vk5sfa at wia.org.au <mailto:vk5sfa at wia.org.au>

My role in all of this has been as a very interested by-stander who has held
a long term interest in Top Band but totally inactive apart from following
this reflector. When I retire and become active I will face all the problems
mentioned above because my QTH is a small city block - this TMLA is the
answer to a prayer! In the meantime, this is too good an antenna to go
undiscovered for too long!

May I wish you all good DX,

73

George, VK5IT
