I have started a series of CQ and gotten
bites but they do not complete. To verify
this, I just now called CQ with FT8 and I
got a reply from SM7OYP but my software
did not reply. It will not reply until I
tell it to do so.

So I clicked on his reply to me to
acknowledge him and start my response. It
was only then that the QSO was
acknowledged and completed.

FT8 is not an automatic QSO machine.
Like FT8 or dislike it, it's really not
the end of Ham Radio.
Not that my opinion matters, but I'd like
to see FT8 be classified separately like
CW RTTY & SSB when it comes to awards. I'm
fine with it being part of "Mixed". I
think it would be a pure new challenge,
and it would be fun for someone like me
who has very few ATNO left to start over
in the chase. & FWIW, it wouldn't over-run
the CW/SSB frequencies to do it, they'd be
fine.
