Hi Carl, 


Since your BOG is producing signal levels close to your regular Beverages, 
its not actually performing as a BOG. Which is a good thing! 


A typical 225 foot BOG has much broader 3 dB beamwidth than a regular 
580 foot Beverage and much lower signal level. 


The primary benefit of a BOG is low profile, not performance.

Frank, Ive run 3 500' BOGs on this granite hilltop for decades now, While 
not completely on the ground it goes over low ground cover, sticks, etc. 
Directivity appears good on 160 and the BCB and they are aimed close to RFI 
noisy neighbors that allow me to copy weak stations until they go to bed. 
The higher incoming angles are sometimes stronger than the regular 
Beverages, no preamp has been used.
