I'm thinking BOGs are low by definition, but that's probably not what 
you were talking about :-)

Tony, to confirm that the busted ferrite is the actual reason your BOG 
is low, do you have an identical feedpoint transformer you can swap in 
and see if it also has the same symptom?  From your description, all we 
really know is that the degradation in performance of the antenna and 
the condition of the binocular core are coincidental.

Your BOG might have some other issue that replacing the ferrite won't 
change.
