Topband: Is a 300' BOG + preamp worth it on 160m?

Hi Felipe,
In my experience, a four-square array of short verticals is fully competitive
with a 500 foot Beverage. It can be as small as 65 feet on a side.
The YCCC 3 element in-line vertical array has similar excellent
performance, fully competitive with a 500 foot Beverage.
Try it! You be delighted with your results

Frank,
That is the only thing that I haven't tried on 160.
Currently I have a full wave dipole on 160 in OCF fashion at 130 ft up and its amazing both in TX and quiet on Receive with a butterfly pattern.
Beverages towards Europe are impossible due to the farm animals and property limits, is the performance on those verticals good for weak signals or just a way to steer off
strong nearby signals?

Hi Bob,
Have you considered an array of short verticals? A simple
receiving 4-square is only 80 feet on each side

Been using a SAL 30 with good success but would like more Euro QSOs in
the 160m contests.
I dont have enough room for a 600'+ Beverage. Alas my yard is a
200'x700' rectangle running E-W, with the house in the middle ( ~300'
of yard behind the house and 300 ft in front.)
So I have a problem aiming anywhere near EU without running directly
under my 52' tall 1/4 wave 160m INV-L and radial field.
Suggestions? Comments?
Bob
