Topband: CW rhythm, swing, speed

Well I used a Bug Key for most of my life (sadly not a Vibroplex, but a
Japanese Semi-automatic I got for my 13th birthday)

What using a Semi allowed you to do was stress some of the Dah characters.
For example, when calling in a Pileup, I would always send the first letter
of my callsign as Dah-Daaaah-Dit.  Similarly, when sending R to confirm
someone has your Call correct, I would always send Dit-Daaaah-Dit (twice).

I guess some people like that stylised sending, and others don't. (same with
my old "pingy" CW note . . . some loved it, others didn't!)

I reluctantly changed over to an Electronic keyer about 5 years ago (took
some getting used to after 50 years using a Semi!). That was mainly so I
could have things in its memory, like long CQ DX calls.
