However, the K9AY RDF is generally given within the range
shown by Greg for the "Optimized VE3DO" (7.7 dB per W8JI).
That would raise a question whether the additional effort
for the VE3DO loop is justified. Further, an endfire pair
of K9AY loops can be erected in approximately the same
area as the largest of the W8WWV VE3DO loops for even better
performance.
