Topband: I am getting too old for this

Beautiful day in central NC, 70F and nice breeze. Decided to run a 500 ft bev in preparation for SP and the coming DX contests.

I now have a huge gash on my shin from a woods trip over a log, and I am sweating bullets. Had to run the bev second time because I got disoriented in the woods and went from 040 to 080 heading somewhere among the pines.

The bev is hearing quite nicely and it's still 2.5 hours until sunset. It's not a HiZ four square (I sold mine this past spring to downsize), but it sure knocks down the noise.

I'm 61. It was a good workout. Not as intense as lifting 50 pound horse feed bags or 75 pound hay bales, but a lot more challenging walking through dense undergrowth while trying to string insulated THHN over branches in a straight line.

But I think I am getting a bit long in the tooth for stringing antennas...maybe get a loop when the deer break the bev.
