In spite of the sudden blast of solar wind, and elevated geo-mag conditions, Karel OK1CF made it over the pole to VE6 last night.
I must congratulate Karel OK1CF for being the most dedicated and persistent advocate for 160m CW activity from EU.
I watch TB all the time, monitoring the RBN skimmers, and packet cluster. OK1CF is the ultimate stalwart of 160m CW .
Almost every night I see Karel spotted, calling CQ even during the summer months.
Last night I started to see traces from Karel's CQ around 0400z, in-and-out with rapid QSB.
I warmed up the amp and called around 0410Z and we had a nice QSO. It seems there was a pre-sunrise peak for Karel.
Here is a recording of our QSO. The pronounced noise is from a solar MPPT charge controller from a neighbor 2 km away!!

My direction to EU is at 20-30 deg N, so a very polar path.
It's nice to know that even during the solar high the trans-polar path has already started to open into western NA.
