Baluns

Thanks to all for the responses.

I've had several types of Baluns here.

On a Hygain beam
A Hygain transformer type....was the best....blew up with hi-SWR
Ferrite bead W2DU..RF all over..... antenna pattern skewed....blew up 
with hi-SWR

On the TA-33
The choke balun ....RF all over...antenna pattern skewed. ..actually 
F/B and F/S disappointing..

The SWR has been climbing for months (all bands) The balun is suspect,
 (I used foam dialectric cable and I think that the center conductor 
might have migrated) but it could be the feedline or a trap.
I am changing the Rotor (to a Yaesu 800SDX) so as long as I'm up 
there......

Will let all know the outcome...
