Wayne,
Your tower should make a terrific 80M vertical.  You need a good ground 
 system with as many quarter wave radials as possible and then shunt 
 feed the tower.

I have a 48 ft. self supporter (Rohn hdbx) with an A3S and a couple
of 40M half slopers.  Am now considering using this setup as an 80M
vertical but don't know where to start.  I did try to dip the tower
with an an-prm-10 gdo.  It appeared to have a dip at 3.1 Mhz and the
meter did not begin to rise until 6.7 Mhz.  Is this sort of reading
normal?  Or is my gdo shot?  Any help with this project would be
appreciated.
