Hi, Mick --

     You're correct, Bedford County is a 70 MPH zone - the lowest rating in
the TIA-222.  While I'm all in favor of over-engineering towers and antennas,
the added guy tension will be a detriment to your installation by adding
additional compression force to the tower legs.  They weren't designed for
this additional force.  

     You'd have to hook a cable from the tower to a car and drive it away in
order to exert enough force to do anything.  It really is a safe tower.  The
additional guy wires would do NOTHING to make is safer for someone to climb
the tower.  Are you being over cautious?  I'd say so.  As long as you've
installed everything to the factory specs, that's all you need to do. The
best thing you can do to make it more stable (not safer, that doesn't change)
while it's being climbed is to install torque arms at each set of guys.
 These are the ones that have the foot long metal bar attached to them.
