According to ANSI/TIA/EIA-222-F, March 29, 1996, The minimum ground is
two 5/8 inch diameter galvanized steel ground rods driven not less than
8 ft into the ground, 180 degrees apart, bonded with a lead of not
smaller than No.6 tinned bare copper connected to the nearest leg or
metal base of the tower.

Additionally, self-supporting towers exceeding 5 feet in base width
shall have one ground rod per leg installed as above.

There are additional grounding requirements for "equipment" on the
tower. I emphatically suggest tower novices obtain and study this
specification which is available from Global Engineering Documents @
1-800-854-7179 or 303-397-7956. This document is not free.

I have no relationship with EIA, TIA, ANSI, Global Engineering
Documents, etc.

73!
