The belt will stay more flexible than you will.

I have been up a tower with 10 degree weather and -20 windchill.
Fortunately it was short tower and I was not planning on being up long.
My problem was not the Kline or the equipment, it was my fingers. That
climb was probably one of the most dangerous things I have been dumb
enough to do. 

I had on my snowmobile gear, but had to take the mittens off and use the
thinner liners when working or repositioning the belt. Holding onto to
cold metal really pulled the heat out. I had to look at everything I was
doing and took three times as long. Came down in the dark and had to
visually verify every hand and foot placement as they were all numb.
