[TowerTalk] Yaesu G-800S Indicator Problem

My Yaesu G-800S Rotor works fine, except that during the first 25 degrees of
rotation (i.e., from 0 degrees to 25 degrees), the indicator does not move.
The rotor itself does move.

Anyone else experience this problem?  Solution?

Yaesu was of no help; said they had never seen this problem before.  They
suggested sending them the control box for service.  I asked if they would
sell me a new control box, and the reply was a firm "no' -- you have to buy
a new rotor and control box. (! )
