Good idea, but a couple of comments.

To those who may be 'cranially challenged' read 'hot' to mean
'volatile', not, as having been heated. This is the last thing you want
to do with Lacquer thinner!
Seriously, some people aren't real hands on types and may not really be
aware of what so many of us take for granted.

A slightly better approach is to go into you local automotive paint
dealer with an empty plastic jug or gallon gasoline container and ask
for a gallon of 'cleaning thinner'. This is bought in bulk and is
usually in 55 gallon drums and is pumped out as needed. It is
relatively cheap; about 5-6 dollars a gallon. It is extrememly
volatile. It evaporates too quickly for general painting use except
for use at low temperatures. Thinner needs to evaporate from the paint
at a certain rate, and this stuff is too quick for painting of the color
coat. This is why it is cheap and is good for cleaning equipment.

It's fine for primer if you can keep it from drying in the air between
the gun and the car. HI.

Use gloves as any of this stuff will take all the oils out of your skin
and will make a mess of your hands.

And, I echo Steve's, N0YVY, thoughts, 'great stuff if it doesn't kill
you'.
