Top Ten box and all else around it will be distroyed via a direct
lightning hit. I sincerely believe there is no way COMPLETELY to protect
a ham station in an ordinary home from lightning, but that the "disconnect
everything" is the best way in an unsure world.
TV stations in Orlando get hit and their signal goes down in strength for
a while or they just go off the air for a few minutes. What they do in
those minutes to get back on the air, I don't know.
However, I do know that disconnects in all lines --AND USING THEM TO
DISCONNECT-- is the cheapest and the best.
Few times the cheapest is the best, use it. de K4VUD
