       Unless you've got lots of time on your hands and some good test
equipment, why reinvent the wheel? 

     In the old days, some builders would build the two antennas on separate
booms and put one on top of the other. Then they would slide them back and
forth until they got what they were looking for and then finally attaching
the elements to one boom. Lots of work no matter how you propose to do it. 

     Have you read your antenna books so that you understand them well enough
to embark on this frustration fraught journey?
