There was quite a discussion about a year ago and the conclusion was not   
much was thought of the Sommer antennas.

     In my search for Utopia, or at least something close, in a aingle
     beam to cover 10 - 40 meters, I was led to the Web page on Sommer
     antennas. At first glance they look interesting, but I do not
     recall any discussions on here about them. Your comments are
     solicited, anyone out there use one ??
