A couple of people have noted that a 40-2CD tuned for the CW part of the
band has lousy performance in the SSB segment. If you've also had this
or related experiences, please post them to the reflector.

Rus, I deliberately set the elements on my 40-2CD so that the minimum
SWR was established at 7075 kHz. At 140', it gives very creditable
performance across the band: to wit - the report from the Czech Republic
Headquarters station during the IARU contest this last weekend that my
signal on 40 SSB was 40-over-9!!.... and that from the DX blackhole of
west TN. I've also received signal reports of 25-over-9 from Australia
and South Africa. I believe the 40-2CD is a very fine 40 meter beam.
I can't corroborate the reports as to poor performance on the SSB segment.
