OOPS! That's the problem with e-mail,
it's too easy to send if off without proof reading.
The CORRECT base to tip length for a T - top
loaded vertical of reasonable proportions is
10% less that a QUARTER wavelength or .225 WL
(NOT 10% less than a HALF wavelength as
originally posted). For an inverted L, the
correct length for resonance is approximately
10% longer than a QUARTER WL or .275 WL.
Sorry for the confusion.

The BCS is not commercially made. It is provided to DXpeditions
by K8GG, W8UVZ, and W0CM who built the few in existance.

It is basically a trap vertical for 40 and 80 with a top loading wire
(inverted L style) for 160 meters.

For a single band 160M antenna, a "T" top-loaded vertical is
probably the best/easiet to make for yourself. The length from
base to tip should be approximately .45 wavelengths if there
are two top wires. For one top wire, .55 wavelengths is needed
for resonance. Feedpoint impedance will be less than 30 Ohms
down to 10 Ohms, depending on the maximum height available.
