The holes at the top of the legs of a Rohn top section an undoubtedly
drain holes for the hot-dip galvanizing process - so that the extra zince
can drain out no matter which end of the tower comes up out of the bath
first!
Being cheap, and greedy, I think using a regular 10' section with a
removable Rohn top plate makes a lot more sense - also, the Top Plate
has ears for guy wire on it. The regular top section is taller (greedy
for height) and it you later are able to extend your tower you don't
have to remove a section first.
