[TowerTalk] Guyed crankup towers obsolete?

It just occured to me that sometime during the last 20 years, 
guyed crankup towers appear to have become extinct.  There are
guyed stackup towers, and self supporting crankups, but no
guyed crankups.  I am sure that they were once available.  The
question is, what changed between now and 20(?) years ago that
caused the demise of guyed crankups?  

For extra credit, does anyone know of a manufacturer still making
guyed crankups?
