Hello all I finally made it to the list. I have a question about my
Butternut HF6V antenna. I love this antenna no traps to worry about easy
to tune but the center conductor on the matching section keeps breaking
after a few storms. I have had winds at this QTH that has almost bent
the antenna pased 45 or more degrees and it justs pops back upright but
it coax breaks at the antenna conectection point.
Does anyone else on hear own a Butternut that has had this problem and
has a mod to fix it? I called Butternut (before they changed hands) and
the only thing they could tell me was to solder a piece of zipcord like
is used on light duty extension cords on to the coax ! This doesn't
seem to me to be a good thing to have in your feed line.
I've been following the discustions on here about tower bases and
problem with interest as I have 40ft of Rohn 25 behind the house on the
ground and a TH6 in the barn and a Tailtwister to turn it. still
planning the support for the tower as it has a fold over base but I will
ask advise on that later
