Any (>200') length will work well, but multiples of 290' give the best
Front-to-back. Also, longer lengths have a lower angle (but slightly less
F/B than a shorter multiple of 290').

At least 1/2 watt, carbon comp, 510 ohm resistor. That will be close
enough to try. If your transmitting antenna is close to the beverage,
you may want a 2W resistor, or even two, 2W, 1000 ohm resistors in parallel
so the resistor doesn't smoke from induced TX currents. The exact
resistance value depends on the beverage height above the ground.
470 or 510 ohms will be close enough for starters.

The lower to the ground, the less the gain, but better the pattern.

Most people suggest sloping the first and last 60' to reduce vertical
radiation.

There is no one exact way to build a beverage. There are lots of
trade-offs and comprimises. They vary from person to person, lot
to lot. Small yard? Okay, 290'. No deer or people? Okay, 4' high.
No fancy test equipment or time? Okay, 470 or 510 ohms.

Big yard and deer? 870' long and 7-10' high. Still roughly 510 ohms.
